A weather vane or wind vane is an instrument for showing the direction of the wind. They are typically used as an architectural ornament to the highest point of a building.
The current wind direction, combined with knowledge of the geography of a region, can often provide a good indication of how the weather may change over the next day or two. For this reason, a wind vane is often used in weather forecasting.
Our wind vane has a simple arrow as the pointer, with the points of the compass labeled below, with letters indicating all the four directions, including the North, South, East and West.
With bearings mounted on a steel pivot, it is precise and comes complete on a metal base.
