A steam engine is a heat engine that performs mechanical work using steam as its working fluid.
The internal structure and the operating principles of a commercial steam engine are well illustrated with this working model.
The metal cylinder is cut in cross-section and is covered with a clear acrylic plate to show the movement of the piston inside the cylinder.
Complete with working parts – the piston, slide valve both move and the link motion and reversing method can be observed. The movement of the wheel is light enough to demonstrate even by blowing air from one’s mouth.
This model is supplied on a metal base.
