A petrol engine uses petrol as the fuel and this fuel is mixed with air, compressed by pistons and ignited by sparks from spark plugs. It has a carburettor, an ignition coil & a spark plug.
This model represents the internal structure and operating principles of an air cooled four-stroke petrol engine.
Each cycle includes 2 rotations of the crankshaft and four strokes, namely:
All parts are made of aluminium alloy.
Ignition is shown by mean of a miniature bulb.
Carburettor and fuel supply are sectioned to help in the understanding of the basic working of a four stroke petrol engine and the how it is different from a diesel engine, which is also an internal combustion engine.
It is mounted on a base, with a labeled placard that also has printed diagrams explaining the working of the engine.
